SIO Twente is an independent foundation, set up to support the establishment of the "International School Twente", to generate capital for high levels of English educational programs and to support diverse cases that have to do with international education.

An International School is important for the future economical growth and development in the region.  It helps companies to do business, especially in terms of labour force and has a positive effect on the status of Twente as a great place to live, work, invest and to do business.

SIO Twente is dependent on the donations from companies, universities, individual sponsors and legislators.

In 2009 bilingual education will be introduced regionally at diverse primary schools.
