AkzoNobel is global leader in Coatings and Specialty Chemicals, with headquarters in Amsterdam, the Netherlands. Within the companies Research, Development & Innovation organization there are Expert Capability Groups (ECGs) whose role is to deliver expertise in fields of science and technology to create breakthrough innovations. They help AkzoNobel's Business Units to turn sustainable technology into money by working as partners in their major innovation projects. The research groups in Arnhem/Deventer (The Netherlands) are either dedicated to a Business Unit or they belong to an Expert Capability Group (ECG).
Functieomschrijving
The department:
The ECG Process Technology (located in Arnhem) has expertise in various areas of process technology. The focus of the groups' work is on creating break-through processes and technologies, optimizing existing processes/process steps and defining scale up rules. We have state of the art laboratory facilities for small scale production, scale up and we have excellent modeling tools.
We continuously track developments in selected competence areas of strategic importance.
The current main research fields of our ECG are:
• Reaction Engineering
• Separation technology
• Waste water treatment
• Process development
• Membrane technology
• Mixing and Dispersion
• Modeling.
What do we offer?
As an intern, you have your own project within one of the above mentioned research fields. During your internship you are expected to work independently, under the supervision of one of our experts.
We have several internship possibilities available throughout the year in our department, typically lasting 4-12 months. Details and period of the internship are of course decided together with you.

Who are we looking for?
We are looking for enthusiastic students at HBO (BSc) or academic (MSc) level in the area of Process Technology or a relevant scientific discipline. The internships are only available for non graduates with a European Union (EU) nationality.
