This organisation, headquartered in Amersfoort, The Netherlands, holds worldwide leading positions in the production, handling and supply of organic peroxides and metal alkyls, used as polymerization initiators. Polymer Chemicals has 15 production plants in Europe, North America, South America, Japan and Asia-Pacific. The products are primarily used in the production of thermoplastic polymers and thermoset plastic materials, but find various other applications as well.
Functieomschrijving
Within the Materials Technology team they are looking for a Vendor Inspector who is responsible for the inspection and acceptation of new equipment at suppliers both at home and abroad. The workload for Vendor Inspection can be variable, so periodically you will be expected to be active within other groups of the Materials Technology team or as Plant Inspector at customer sites.
As a Vendor Inspector, you must be very independent and responsible to organize your own work program as well as having a pro-active attitude. You are able to carry out inspections based on the applicable requirements and your judgement is very clear, also under pressure. You are also responsible for preparing Vendor Inspection Proposals for new projects including the inspection planning. Close cooperation with Project and Design Engineers as well as the Purchase department are also important aspects.
Functie-eisen
Bachelor degree, preferably in mechanical engineering and preferably a number of years of relevant experience in an engineering environment. You are able to communicate on different levels within the organisation and show a great deal of initiative. Even though you will be primarily working alone, you are also expected to be a good team player, capable to support colleagues and take initiative when required. You are experienced in plant inspection (minimum SKK level II or equivalent) and in vendor inspection (preferably also in the field of polymeric equipment) and have an understanding of the relevant governmental rules.
A minimum of 5 years experience in plant and/or vendor inspection is necessary. You understand the importance of quality and you have a practical ability of problem solving.
Readiness to undertake significant travel is a pre-requisite for this function.
Good knowledge of the Dutch and English language, both written and spoken is required.
